Henry C. Emlinger was born in Kalida. He was the son of Mrs. Frank Foley. Henry entered the army March 4, 1942, and arrived overseas May 7, 1944, serving in the 363rd Infantry, 91st Infantry Division as a Private First Class. He was Killed in Action on July 7, 1944 in the battle around the area of Ponzalla in Italy and is now buried in the Florence American Cemetery, Impruneta, Italy.
