Franklin Dell, aged 22, was born on May 12, 1922 in Allentown, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. He enlisted at age 18 on May 12, 1940, over a year and a half before the US entered the war. Franklin served in the 363rd Infantry, 91st Infantry Division as a Private First Class during World War II. He died on November 14, 1944 in the battle around the area of Ponzalla in Italy and is now buried in the Florence American Cemetery, Impruneta, Italy.
