When Edward F. Bowman was born in 1899 in Ohio, his father, Simon, was 36 and his mother, Terzia, was 37. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private First Class in Machine Gun Company, 28th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on July 22, 1918 and is now buried in Manchester Cemetery, Ohio County, West Virginia, USA. His name is inscribed on the Buzancy monument as a Private.
