When Clarence G. White was born on February 2, 1893, in Gamaliel, Arkansas, his father, James, was 31 and his mother, Mary, was 26. He had four brothers and one sister. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company A, 28th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He died from his wounds received in battle on July 25, 1918 in France and is now buried in Mountain Home Cemetery, Mountain Home, Baxter County, Arkansas, USA.
