Harvey Jasper Mundy, son of Nancy E. and Edward Mundy, was born in Yadkin Co., NC on July 3, 1894. He entered the service on Sept. 21, 1917. He received his military training at Camp Shelby, MS, in Company A, 151st Inf., 38th Division. He was later transferred in a replacement company at Camp Merritt, NJ in June 1918. He sailed landing at LaHarve, France, where he was later transferred to Co. E, 26th Inf. of the First Division and entered the battle on the morning of July 18 and was killed in action on the following day July 19, 1918, at Chateau Therry, at the age of 24. He is now buried in South Mound Cemetery, New Castle, Henry County, Indiana, USA. His name is inscribed on the Buzancy monument as H A MUNDAY.
