In the foyer of the church. Plaque A marble plaque with blue inscription and crossed American and French flags. LTC Richard Derby was the Division Surgeon of the 2nd Infantry Division and used this church as the site of the 1st Field Hospital during the battle of Belleau Wood. His family later donated to rebuild the church clock tower.

En hommage a la famille Derby-Roosevelt dont la générosité a permis la reconstruction du clocher de notre Eglise, transformée en juin 1918 en hôpital de compagne par le Lieutenant Colonel Richard Derby. Les habitants de Bezu reconnaissants. 29 juin 1997.

ENGLISH TRANSLATION:  In hommage of the Derby-Roosevelt Family whose generosity permitted the reconstruction of the clock tower of our church, used as a Field Hospital in June 1918 by LTC Richard Derby. The residents of Bezu are grateful.  19 June 1997.
