In the forest of Gros Bois off of the Souvenir Francais' trail.

Marker
A stone parade ground with a large brown stone slab bearing a B-17 tail replica in stone and gold lettering commemorating the US aviators that crashed there during WWII. 


The monument remembers the crew of the B-17 "Roanoke Magician" of  835th Bomber Squadron, 486th Bomb Group that crashed here on January 25, 1945 after a mission to Mannheim, Germany.
