377th Infantry Regiment Memorial
Details:
The memorial is located in a clearing along a pedestrian path just north of the southwest park entrance. It faces east toward the pathway. Monument The low memorial features a grey resin sign atop a tile base with white text in English and French as well as unit insignia. Five flag poles frame the north arc of the memorial area. The plaque honors the 377th Infantry Regiment, 95th Infantry Division who seized the fortified Brieux Chateau in November 1944. The battle was the first in the campaign to liberate Metz and the surrounding area.
