A large stone with a brass inscribed plaque attached to the front.

The memorial remembers the liberation of the town by the 274th and 275th Infantry Regiments of the 70th Infnatry "Trailblazers" Division in February 1945.

The memorial was dedicated in May 1995 in the presence of veterans of the unit.
