On the south side of the bridge at the turn-off before the bridge. Monument  

A stainless steel monument; parachute over pedestal with inscribed plaques on the sides.

The memorial remembers the 82nd Airborne Division operations in the area during Operation "Market Garden in September 1944, specially the capture of Bridge 11 over the Maas River.

The 82nd Airborne Division had to secure a bridge over the river Maas (Meuse) in Grave, four bridges over the Maas-Waal canal and the road and railroad bridge over the river Waal in Nijmegen.
