Quentin Roosevelt's Airplane Engine

<< Back to Chateau Thierry Town Hall

Details:

In the lobby of the Town Hall. Commemorative Object

Parts of a WWI airplane engine, purported to be the plane that Quentin Roosevelt was shot down in.  There is historical doubt as to the Roosevelt connection. Roosevelt was killed while flying a Nieuport 28, which had no radiator, yet the displayed engine has one so could not be from a Nieuport 28.
