Details:
At the street below the memorial bunker Monument A concrete archway through which one must pass to reach the memorial park, which is a large concrete bunker covering the trench where a french infantry platoon was buried alive. The entranceway is inscribed in french. At either side of the entrace is a bronze plaque. One says that the monument was inaugurated on 8 December by the President of the Republic Miller and the American Ambassador Wallace. The other says that the monument is due to the generosity of GF Rand, American citizen.
