Monument Text:

En ce lieu, le 18 août 1944, [ils] furent tués au cours de l'opération de la libération de Varages. Monument érigé en leur mémoire par leurs camarades et les habitants de Varages et inauguré le 18 août 2004 par Michel Partage, Maire de Varages, l'Amiral Jacques Lanxade, ancien chef d'états Major des Armées et Ellen Thorburn, consul des Etats-Unis d'Amérique.


Here, on 18 August 1944, they were killed during the operation to liberated Varages.  The monument was erected in their memory by their comrades and the citizens of Varages.  It was inaugurated on 18 August 2004 by Michael Partage, Mayor of Varages, Admiral Jacque Lanxade, retired Chief of Staff of the Armies, and Ellen Thorburn, consul of the USA.
